About the position

The position involves the design and development of test programs for measuring the functionality and integrity of products and services within the Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business at Leonardo DRS. The role requires writing test procedures, debugging hardware and software, and supporting engineering tasks. It emphasizes independent work on daily tasks and collaboration in the design and procurement of new equipment, while also focusing on process documentation and test analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop test programs to measure product functionality and integrity.
  • Write test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability.
  • Debug test hardware and software.
  • Support engineering with routine duties and hands-on tasks.
  • Work independently on daily tasks.
  • Assist in the design, build, and procurement of new or improved machines and tools.
  • Complete process documentation, bill of materials, and route sheets under direction.
  • Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications and procedures.
  • Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified electrical and/or mechanical components.
  • Set up and conduct tests of units and components under direction.
  • Analyze test results and adjust equipment to meet specifications; record procedures and results.
  • Assist in the creation of documentation to maintain equipment.
  • Support the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Assist in the development of plant layouts and process improvements.
  • Coordinate maintenance projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Novice technical expertise and beginning familiarity with shop/laboratory equipment.
