About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Associate Systems Engineer - Space Vehicle Engineer (Level 2) to join their team in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems. The Space Controller/Engineer (SVC) will be responsible for command and control of space vehicles (SV), telemetry monitoring, and execution and verification of products loaded to the SV. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Able to successfully complete the Space Vehicle Certification program which requires a combination of self-study and on-the-job (OJT) training
  • Experience in aerospace systems engineering
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts which include working days, nights, weekends and/or holidays
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. Security Clearance with an adjudicated Counterintelligence or Full Scope Polygraph (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with coding/scripting with various languages (MATLAB, Pearl, etc.)
  • Experience working with space vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring integrity of the ground system and command path in support of the mission
  • Will use Microsoft-Windows or UNIX based computers for the development of the operational plan and analysis of data collected in support of planning future contacts or anomaly resolution
  • Responsible for coordination with management and peers to ensure the integrity of high quality operational products, including procedures, tools, detailed event logging, and system configuration
  • Analyze technical data, verify and sustain specific systems configuration in accordance with defined constraints and operational requirements
  • Monitor system performance and control system elements by executing commands to change the system configuration in order to achieve mission objectives
  • May support future system testing and integration requirements
  • Selected candidate will be provided specialized training in order to learn the necessary skills related to ground and SV configuration management allowing them to obtain the necessary certifications required for this position
