About the position

The Associate Specialist at MTF Biologics is responsible for providing territory support to the STAR Surgical Specialist and other senior specialists in the assigned territory. This role involves building relationships with existing customers and potential targets, ensuring the appropriate use of tissue grafts in surgical settings, and assisting in achieving sales goals. The position requires residing in Utah and entails extensive travel to various medical facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with STAR Consultant to identify target customers and optimize time spent in the territory.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing MTF customers and potential targets.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of MTF tissue forms and their clinical applications.
  • Educate and provide clinical data to develop MTF champions among customers.
  • Attend surgical cases on short notice to ensure proper use of tissues/products in the operating room.
  • Instruct OR staff and surgeons on the preparation and utilization of allografts during surgeries.
  • Generate product usage through customer education and sales collateral.
  • Assist STAR Consultant in achieving annual sales goals for the territory.
  • Utilize effective sales skills to penetrate target accounts and close sales.
  • Manage inventory, including consignment audits and reporting.
  • Handle purchase orders for grafts used and manage the return process for unused inventory.
  • Build effective relationships with surgeons, nursing personnel, and other surgical staff.
  • Maintain proficiency in surgical procedures and OR protocols.
  • Communicate relevant information from attended surgical cases to STAR Consultant.
  • Drive attendance to MTF Professional Education events.
  • Complete administrative duties, including timely submission of expense reports.
  • Stay updated with company communications through various technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least 2 years of business-to-business, pharmaceutical, or medical device sales experience.
  • Documented sales success in generating new sales and maintaining existing accounts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
  • Effective communication skills with sales prospects and corporate management.
  • Self-starter with strong time management and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain a home office and travel extensively using a personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Licensed driver with a well-maintained and insured vehicle.
  • Willingness to comply with Vendor Credentialing requirements, including vaccinations.
  • Ability to stand for long periods in an operating room environment or at a tradeshow.
