About The Position

Join the Arkansas Center for Women’s and Infants’ Health at UAMS as an Associate Project Manager to support the High Risk Pregnancy Program (HRPP) in delivering impactful statewide initiatives. In this role, you will provide operational leadership by coordinating procurement, travel, project workflows, and internal systems to meet grant and program deliverables. You will act as the operational backbone of HRPP, ensuring staff are equipped with the tools, contracts, materials, and workflows needed to execute education, outreach, clinical readiness, and quality improvement activities. Collaborate with program leadership, finance, compliance, evaluation teams, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with sponsor requirements. Utilize strong analytical writing skills to synthesize complex clinical and evaluation data into clear, fundable narratives. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, business administration, or related field, plus two (2) years of project or program management experience.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Greater Little Rock, AR, or the Greater Northwest, AR, regions, as this position will be located at the UAMS Campus.
  • Experience managing procurement and travel processes within a complex organization.
  • Strong organizational and systems-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and enterprise systems (e.g., Workday).
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all procurement processes for HRPP initiatives, including supplies, simulation equipment, educational materials, printing, and contracted services.
  • Coordinate vendor selection, quotes, justifications, and purchasing approvals in accordance with UAMS and sponsor policies.
  • Monitor purchase timelines to prevent delays in program implementation.
  • Track encumbrances and spending in collaboration with Finance/Compliance Administrator.
  • Maintain procurement documentation for audit readiness and grant compliance.
  • Coordinate in-state and out-of-state travel for HRPP staff, trainers, and leadership.
  • Manage travel authorizations, registrations, reimbursements, and compliance documentation.
  • Oversee logistics for statewide trainings, simulation events, and partner meetings.
  • Develop standardized travel planning templates and checklists to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure travel aligns with grant budget allocations and sponsor requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project management timelines for all HRPP deliverables.
  • Build and monitor implementation trackers to ensure milestones are met.
  • Coordinate internal workflow across education, outreach, evaluation, and finance teams.
  • Facilitate routine operational check-ins to identify barriers and proactively problem-solve.
  • Maintain centralized documentation systems (SharePoint/Teams/Workday systems).
  • Ensure HRPP team members have appropriate workspace, equipment, and technology.
  • Coordinate onboarding logistics for new staff (office setup, equipment requests, access permissions).
  • Maintain inventory tracking for equipment and materials.
  • Develop standardized operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy.
  • Maintain a master deliverables calendar aligned with grant and contract requirements.
  • Support preparation of documentation for progress reports and audits.
  • Collaborate with evaluation staff to align operational tracking with reporting metrics.
  • Identify risks to meeting deliverables and escalate to program leadership as needed.
