About the position

As an Associate Project Manager on Olsson's Transmission and Distribution (Power Delivery) team, you'll oversee the successful delivery of small-to-mid-sized or low-risk projects. Your role will involve managing the full project life cycle, ensuring that projects meet established scope, schedule, and budget expectations while providing clients with impactful, high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble project teams and assign roles based on technical skills and project needs to achieve objectives.
  • Develop and communicate project scope, schedule, and budget with the team, client, and contractors, serving as the main point of contact for updates and challenges.
  • Oversee project budgets, review costs, and ensure adherence to planned budgets to maintain client satisfaction and financial success.
  • Secure and allocate resources for each project stage, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks, implementing strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes.
  • Organize and lead routine project meetings with clients and teams to align on expectations, progress, and performance.
  • Document all project deliverables, including correspondence, design plans, and project files, ensuring thorough record-keeping.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support future opportunities.
  • Coordinate contract negotiations and mentor team members on project management best practices, utilizing Olsson Project Management resources.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and enforce project safety standards.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well with a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, construction, planning, landscape architecture, or a related field preferred; associate degree with equivalent experience accepted.
  • Minimum of eight years of project experience in an applicable field, with progressively increasing responsibility.
