About the position
The Associate, Investment Banking, Energy position at Scotiabank involves preparing client presentations, financial modeling, and mentoring Analysts. Responsibilities
- Prepare client presentations and financial models.
- Mentor and supervise Analysts.
- Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of corporate clients.
- Develop and maintain effective industry relationships with legal counsel and clients.
- Perform comprehensive financial statement analysis and create financial models.
- Identify and develop business opportunities with clients.
- Support transaction structuring and execution efforts.
- Apply product and capital markets knowledge to help clients achieve financial objectives.
- Develop junior bankers through active engagement and feedback.
- Contribute to a high-performance and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
- 2-5+ years' work experience in Investment Banking, Equity Research, or corporate finance.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Economics, Science, or other quantitative or STEM subject.
- Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new situations and short deadlines.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with American Sign Language.
- Knowledge of corporate finance and investment banking.
