About the position
Meta is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join the Legal department's corporate team. This role requires operating independently in a fast-paced environment and working proactively with various teams across the organization, including executive operations, human resources, finance, investor relations, and corporate communications.
Responsibilities
- Operating independently in a fast-paced environment
- Working proactively with various teams across the organization
- Providing corporate and transactional experience with public companies
- Emphasis on SEC and regulatory compliance, executive compensation, and corporate governance
- Leveraging organizational skills and strategic thinking
- Working autonomously and with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrating business judgment and client counseling skills
- Effective communication skills
Requirements
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Active membership in at least one US state bar
- Eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
- 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney
- Experience at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
- Demonstrated pattern of roles with increasing responsibility
- In-house experience and prior AmLaw 100 law firm experience
