We work together to drive ambition for every future! We seek an energetic, entrepreneurial Associate to join our FICC Structured Notes team, supporting growth in a leading capital markets business. This role provides broad experience in product development, structuring, execution, sales support, and lifecycle management, with opportunities for increased responsibility. The successful candidate will collaborate with sales, trading, financial engineering, risk, and internal teams to enhance product capabilities, execution, and business growth, while complying with all regulations and policies. The Associate will regularly engage in cross-functional projects, leveraging their analytical skills to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency. This position offers unique exposure to industry-leading practices and the chance to build lasting relationships within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of global capital markets and structured financial products.
  • Knowledge of derivatives, including exotic FICC and hybrid products.
  • University degree in Business/Finance/Mathematics/Engineering.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging and collaborative working environment.
  • Advanced computer skills required, especially in MS Excel and Visual Basic.
  • Programming skills, including Python
  • Strong team player, making ongoing risk decisions within the context of group collaboration.
  • Strong communication, business development and relationship management skills.
  • This role requires successful completion of the NFA Swaps Proficiency Requirement within 30 days of assuming the role and must be completed prior to engaging in in-scope activity.
  • This role requires successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course and Conduct and Practices Handbook for designation as a Registered Representative if engaging with Canadian institutional clients.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Design and execute various FICC structured payoffs, provide feedback to global sales teams on pricing dynamics and assist with product development.
  • Participates in the daily lifecycle of FICC Structured Notes issuance, including design, pricing and execution of new issue products, creating pitchbooks/marketing materials, legal documentation, booking of trades, and after-market support (secondary market, maturities, call events).
  • Collaborate with FICC trading, financial engineering and risk management to develop and expand product suite and risk management capabilities.
  • Work closely with global sales teams to provide market commentary, understand client needs, and educate on product construction, risks, and sensitivities.
  • Actively contribute to the general day-to-day activities of the Structured Notes business with the focus on deepening client relationships and maximizing both all-Bank revenue and alternative term funding.
  • Ensure all risks are contained within the approved limits outlined in the Desk’s mandate.
  • Ensure all trading is conducted within the Desk’s approved Volcker operating plan.
  • Maintain communication with internal support groups on all matters related to FICC structured notes and any associated hedges.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
