We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Associate, ESG Data Solutions & Controls with a focus on our financed emissions methodology and measurement to join our Sustainability Office. This is a HYBRID role located in New York City. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, certifications, and/or prior experiences in sustainability, environmental science, data and analytics, policy, and/or economics
- Experience or familiarity with organizing and maintaining datasets to ensure consistency
- Familiarity with greenhouse gas emissions inventory preparation and methodologies
- Highly detail-oriented, strong project management skills, and ability to manage multiple projects in fast paced environments
- Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Gather financial and climate-related data to support financed emissions calculations and manage data-related inquiries with business partner teams, Audit, Legal, etc.
- Assist in applying methodologies, such as the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) to calculate BNY’s carbon footprint and analyze data to identify trends and variances
- Support implementation of data controls and maintain accurate records of accounting processes, data sources, and calculations to ensure accuracy and readiness for assurance or audits
- Prepare research on climate trends, evolving market practices, and advancements in financed emissions accounting standards
- Assist with enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of financed emissions data, calculation processes, and controls
- Prepare presentations and materials for stakeholder engagement
