About The Position

NBCUniversal is hiring an Associate Engineer, Production Support for NBCU Operations & Technology (O&T), based in the Telemundo Center facility located in Miami, FL. O&T supports Enterprise Technology, Broadcast, and Production systems globally for NBCUniversal. The Associate Engineer is responsible for providing best-in-class live television production support for NBCU, supporting live and scripted/unscripted productions. This position will also support the Projects team, implementing changes, enhancements, and supporting technology refresh and expansion projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Television Production, or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of recent engineering experience supporting television production, streaming, or master control environments.
• Proficient in both Linux/Windows operating systems.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to provide clear, decisive feedback while being prepared to pivot or change course when appropriate.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Understanding of AWS/Azure architecture and core services.
• Experience with programming in one of the following languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
• Experience with systems monitoring tools such as Datadog, Op5, New Relic, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and support maintenance of a broadcast production environment consisting of multiple studios and production control rooms.
• Support virtualization and cloud initiatives, continuing deployment of virtual production systems both on-premise and in the cloud.
• Maintain production systems by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Resolve support requests, monitor ticketing systems for new issues and assigned tasks, and performing preventative maintenance as assigned.
