About the position

The Associate Engineer, Engineering/Operations will start in May of 2025 and will participate in the site's Engineering and Operations Career Development Program. The program will allow the individual to rotate job assignments each year over a 2 - 3 years time span gaining insights and solid understanding of various departments within Herbalife. These assignments will involve the employee participating in two or more of the following departments: Continuous Improvement, Engineering Project Management, Maintenance & Training, Planning, R&D Tech. Ops, Production/Inventory Control/ Supply Chain (Warehouse, Manufacturing, Packaging, Quality, Environmental Health and Safety). The individual will work onsite at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules, implements, and coordinates the technical and management aspects of continuous improvement engineering projects and activities.
  • Lead the determination of machine and process improvements by collecting data and determining root causes; then propose solutions and report results to the operations team.
  • Lead all efforts to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through the focus of reducing the time it takes for changeovers, cleans, set-ups and staging of equipment/ materials.
  • Propose, measure, analyze, design, evaluate and implement best improvement options for machines, processes and mechanisms.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to furnish parts and equipment to specification as needed.
  • Troubleshoot problems with both components, materials and machinery processes in coordination with Quality, Production, Operations, Maintenance, vendors and OEMs.
  • Research innovative technologies to promote the 'Build it Better' culture.
  • Lead and coordinate all activities and requirements for maintaining the ISO 45001 certification.
  • Coordinate and assist any training sessions associated with the OH&S Management System.
  • Liaison between all departments in procuring all assigned nonconformities & corrective actions.
  • Direct and maintain records of corrective actions when resolutions are determined.
  • Assists in audits required to maintain the ISO 45001 certification.
  • Assists management in training as the need arises, all safety SOP's, policies, procedures, and the IIPP.
  • Provide technical support to the Winston Salem manufacturing facility, including manufacturing issue resolution, accurate completion of technical documents (e.g., manufacturing batch records, rework procedures), participation in material reviews, and completion of CAPAs assigned to R&D.
  • Initiate process improvements and/or explores new process unit operations in conjunction with Operations that meet project goals and financial targets.
  • Use historical data (LIMs, SCADA, etc.) to create and improve, formulations, specifications, and manufacturing processes through QbD approach.
  • Ensure efficient operation of the R&D Center of Excellence pilot plant facility to achieve project goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related Technical degree.
  • College internship experience leading engineering and/or process improvement projects or initiatives.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects and organize workloads, with effective outcomes.
  • Ensures compliance to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Ability to function as an effective team member.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of small- to medium-sized project management techniques and successful leadership of small- to medium-sized projects.
  • Experience with Windows, Outlook, MS Word, Excel and Adobe.
  • Ability to work in a multifaceted, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must have knowledge of measuring techniques to create, verify, read and utilize engineering drawings.

  • Experience within an industrial and manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in cGMP facilities.
