About The Position

Under general direction of the Director of Athletics, the Associate Director of Athletics/Deputy Title IX Coordinator serves as an integral member of the Department of Athletics and is a member of the department’s Senior Leadership team. In addition to serving as the primary liaison between Athletics, the Dean of Students Office, The Office of Inclusive Excellence, and the Office of Title IX/DHR, the position serves as strategic and collaborative partner focused on identifying and resolving complex and high impact issues in a rapidly evolving environment. The position serves as the point of contact and oversight for inclusivity and equity initiatives in alignment with CSUSM, NCAA and CCAA conference goals. The position serves as the department point of contact for campus support services including but not limited to the Career Center, Cougar Care Network, and Student Health and Counseling Services. As the department’s Deputy Title IX Coordinator, this position will serve as the department’s primary liaison to the university regarding Title IX matters along with the Director of Athletics and as a member of the campus Clery Team. This position may have other program administration duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Full-time, exempt position in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP).
  • MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.
  • Must be a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.
  • Must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017.
  • Must file Conflict of Interest forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
  • Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
  • Applicants who reach the final stages of the application process must also sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant's current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.
