About the position

The Consulting Principal - Economic Consulting role at S&P Global Market Intelligence is part of the Global Intelligence and Analytics (GIA) consulting team. This team supports customers by providing a comprehensive view of the geographies, sectors, and operating environments that influence their operations. The role involves leading client engagements, developing technical and strategic solutions, and working closely with fellow consultants, researchers, and data teams. The focus is on clients in the consumer/retail, manufacturing, and service sectors, utilizing economic and econometric analysis to meet unique client needs. Responsibilities include preparing macroeconomic scenarios for stress testing, analyzing consumer behavior, and maintaining the US demographics model. The position offers opportunities for project management, client engagement, and collaboration with a diverse team of experts.

Responsibilities

  • Project management including an internal and external project leadership role.
  • Conceptualizing technical approaches and methods for presentations, proposals, and pitches.
  • Conducting in-depth economic analysis including preparation of macro stress-testing scenarios.
  • Conducting and supporting econometric modeling and forecasting.
  • Presenting methodological processes and project findings to clients.
  • Providing support to the commercial team in building a pipeline of business focused on macroeconomic scenarios.

Requirements

  • PhD or master's degree in Economics with up to 5 years of work experience.
  • Experience with preparation of macroeconomic scenarios for stress testing.
  • Mathematical aptitude with strong ability to work with scaled datasets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Ability to use programming languages for data and economic modeling, ideally in Eviews, R, and Python.
