The Associate Director of the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program coordinates and supervises the work of the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program (ADAP). This role includes providing clinical training for the University's law students and fulfilling public relations, public outreach, and education duties. ADAP is the statewide protection and advocacy system for the State of Alabama, working to achieve fairness and justice for Alabamians with disabilities. The program provides legally-based advocacy services, conducts complex litigation to support systems change on behalf of persons with disabilities, investigates allegations of abuse and neglect against persons with disabilities, participates in legislative and regulatory advocacy work, and conducts education and outreach about disability rights. The position is eligible for hybrid work subject to University policy.
