Associate Chemist - Environment Testing - 1st shift, Sun-Thurs
About The Position
Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing analytical testing services to clients across multiple industries to ensure products are safe, ingredients are authentic, and labeling is accurate. This role involves applying GMP/GLP, performing sample preparation and analysis for various analytical methods, reviewing data, performing basic equipment maintenance, preparing solutions, and disposing of chemical waste. The position requires adherence to safety and efficiency in all activities. The job is full-time, with a schedule of Sunday-Thursday, 7am-3:30pm, with potential for overtime. Training will be conducted Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field. Equivalent relevant experience may substitute for degree.
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship
Nice To Haves
- BS in Chemistry, with some analytical Chemistry classes
- Previous lab experience is a plus
- Experience with instrumentation is a plus, including LC/MS or GC/MS
- Environmental Science coursework or experience is a plus, but is not required
Responsibilities
- Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Perform prep/analysis of samples of various matrices for various analytical methods
- Analyze/prep samples and QC for routine testing
- Review, work up, and assemble all supporting data for work performed
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment used for routine work
- Read, understand, and carry out SOPs required by EPA or company methods, governing agencies, clients, and our internal QC department
- Prepare standard solutions and other reagents as needed
- Use word processor and spreadsheet programs on PC
- Dispose of all chemical wastes using approved methods
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
