Responsibilities
- Supervise direct care of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift.
- Administer direct care as necessary.
- Give and receive shift reports.
- Round twice a shift to ensure proper care is rendered in a safe and clean environment.
- Keep physicians and families aware of changes in residents' conditions.
- Assist in developing comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all care rendered.
- Respond to the resident emergency call system.
- Interface with other disciplines to ensure continuity of care and services.
- Accompany physicians when making rounds.
- Encourage restorative care to obtain maximum resident independence.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and an RN with a current license in Florida.
- At least 6 months of experience in geriatric nursing (a plus).
- Supervisory experience (a plus).
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
- Effective communication skills with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
