About the position
The Assisted Living Med Tech position at Saint Francis Home is a part-time role focused on providing medication administration and direct care support to residents in a compassionate and detail-oriented manner. This position is specifically for weekend shifts, requiring a current unrestricted Medication Aide Registration through the Virginia Department of Health Professions. The Med Tech will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of residents by monitoring their health and providing personal care as needed.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents according to prescribed dosages and schedules
- Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication management
- Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures
Requirements
- Current unrestricted Medication Aide Registration through the Virginia Department of Health Professions
- 1 year of experience in medication administration
- CPR Certification
- AED Certification
- Strong understanding of medical documentation and record-keeping practices
- Proficiency in medication administration and knowledge of different medication systems
- Experience in acute care, assisted living, caregiving, or related fields
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
