About The Position

Reports to the Head Softball Coach and Director of Athletics. Assist the Head Softball Coach with various aspects of the varsity softball program; i.e., coaching, recruiting, academics, and game/practice management and fundraising. The assistant softball coach will adhere to RMAC rules, regulations, and NCAA Division II bylaws. In addition, the assistant softball coach will represent MSU Denver in a positive manner and continue to uphold the program’s philosophies and the athletic department’s core values.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Previous playing and/or coaching at high level /competitive softball

Responsibilities

Assist Head Coach in coaching team (Practice planning, individual workouts, game strategy, scouting reports, etc …)
Assist in developing and implementing training and game plans.
Secondary Academic Coordinator for the softball team including study hall monitoring, class attendance, class registration, grade monitoring, and progress towards graduation.
Assist Head coach with recruiting ( i.e. tournaments, showcases, games and camps) scheduling, organizing unofficial/official visits, tryouts etc …
Organize and inventory of softball equipment and uniforms
Assist in game day preparations including bat list preparation and bat testing .
Assist in scouting and video analysis.
Assist with organization and implementation of fundraising opportunities, (which include, but are not limited to facility rentals, Rockies 50/50 raffle, Red & Blue Fund, etc …)
Lead organizer of camps and clinics (Nike Youth Camp, Prospect Camps, etc.)
Community service coordinator and monitor community service hours through HelperHelper .
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics
