About the position

As an Assistant Teacher at Guidepost Montessori, you will play a vital role in transforming the lives of young children at our Downers Grove campus. This position is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic and adaptable, with a passion for working with children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. You will have the opportunity to learn about the Montessori method from experienced teachers, and no prior Montessori experience is required. We are looking for candidates who are available for part-time hours in the afternoons (12pm to 3pm-6pm) or full-time hours from 7am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, at our year-round centers. In this role, you will assist in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children, helping them to explore and learn through the Montessori approach. You will be part of a supportive team that values collaboration and professional growth. Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily care and education of children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
• Support the lead teacher in implementing the Montessori curriculum and activities.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Experience working with young children ages 0-6 in a group care environment, such as a daycare, preschool, camp, or aftercare program.
• Valid state background check.
• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• First Aid/CPR Certification.

• Experience as a nanny, caregiver, educator, or coach.
