About the position
The Assistant Store Manager at NAPA is responsible for leading a team in a fast-paced retail environment, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and driving store growth. This role involves managing store operations, supporting the store manager, and fostering a culture of employee engagement while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Create a superior customer service experience to achieve maximum market penetration and drive store growth.
- Provide daily leadership and sustain a culture of employee engagement.
- Partner with teammates to drive company-owned store initiatives.
- Manage store operations to maximize sales, profits, and customer service.
- Build, coach, train, and engage the crew team to deliver superior customer care and business results.
- Oversee inventory protection, asset management, and operational safety issues.
- Ensure overall cleanliness and readiness of delivery vehicles, sales floor, stock room, and outside areas.
- Drive NAPA operational and marketing programs while steering toward continuous improvement in processes and procedures.
- Grow customer relationships and assist with sales/service questions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical or trade school courses or degree completion.
- Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn about automotive.
- Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift 60lbs in some situations.
Nice-to-haves
- Background and/or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
- Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision, or fast food/restaurant/convenience store management.
- Entirely customer-centric (external/internal).
- ASE Certifications.
