About the position

As the Assistant Store Manager (ASM) at Tory Burch, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership team, working closely with the General Manager (GM) and/or Assistant General Manager (AGM) to foster a productive and engaging environment for both customers and employees. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain the selling and service skills of the staff while ensuring the day-to-day operations of the store run smoothly. You will be accountable for driving business results by monitoring sales targets and metrics, providing feedback to the leadership team, and managing resources effectively to maximize sales and customer engagement. In this role, you will lead by example, demonstrating exceptional clienteling skills and building strong relationships with customers. You will coach your team on sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service, ensuring that every customer has a transformational experience. Your leadership will also extend to managing payroll expenses, fostering team growth, and maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere in the store. You will be responsible for overseeing the store's visual merchandising and operational excellence, ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to while maintaining a high standard of store maintenance. Your commitment to self-development and growth will be essential as you assist in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new staff, contributing to a team-oriented environment that celebrates success and recognizes individual contributions. You will embody the Tory Burch brand aesthetic and philosophy, ensuring that the store reflects the brand's values and engages customers effectively. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as occasional overnight travel. You will also need to meet physical demands such as lifting and standing for extended periods, making adaptability and a strong work ethic key components of your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the leadership team in achieving financial targets by monitoring and improving measurable statistics.
  • Manage team sales targets and provide feedback and analysis to the leadership team.
  • Maximize sales, traffic flow, floor coverage, and customer engagement through effective resource management.
  • Lead by example in clienteling, building and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Model and supervise the selling environment, providing coaching on sales and customer service.
  • Ensure disciplined control of payroll expenses.
  • Manage overall team performance and growth, holding team members accountable to high standards.
  • Foster ongoing growth and development of the team through training and on-the-job learning.
  • Assist in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of store staff.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences by training staff on styling, selling, and service skills.
  • Maintain visual merchandising and operational standards at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of management experience in a luxury or service-driven environment.
  • Proven track record of success in sales and customer service.
  • Open availability for a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
