About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at The Beaufort Bonnet Company plays a crucial role in supporting the store manager to achieve performance goals and enhance customer experiences. This position involves leading and coaching store staff, managing sales targets, and ensuring operational excellence while maintaining the company's aesthetic and core values.

Responsibilities

  • Support the store manager in executing store strategy to achieve performance goals.
  • Monitor team sales targets and provide feedback to the store manager.
  • Manage store staff to maximize sales and customer engagement.
  • Model behavior that reflects the company's core values.
  • Provide coaching on sales, product knowledge, and staff training.
  • Ensure visual merchandising and maintenance standards are met.
  • Assist in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of store staff.
  • Lead team in handling merchandise receipts and transfers accurately.
  • Enforce people policies and ensure accurate processing of employee paperwork.
  • Protect company assets by adhering to loss prevention policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of retail experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Basic retail math skills.
  • Experience with POS systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Experience in merchandising and retail visual concepts.
