About the position

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for construction projects from initiation to close, making sure the work gets done efficiently and satisfactorily. Major responsibilities include coordination of suppliers and subcontractors, scheduling, budget control, safety and customer satisfaction (General Contractor) and overall outcome of assigned projects. This is considered a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversight of construction projects from contract to successful close out
  • Communicate with owners, architects and subcontractors related to project risk, timetables, costs/budgets, and change management
  • Assist with compiling all Pre-Construction documentation.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices.
  • Prepare interim and final applications for payment
  • Maintain digital project filing system per the company standards.
  • Collaborate with Senior Project Manager, Estimator, Superintendent to provide pricing for any Bulletins, RFI's, ASI's etc.
  • Create PO's & write subcontracts.
  • Coordinate with Superintendent and Foreman to resolve issues & problems as they arise.
  • Process RFI's and follow up until they are efficiently resolved in a timely manner.
  • Solicit subcontractor and material quotes.
  • Ensure submittals are completed and approved in a timely manner with the help of the Project Coordinator

Requirements

  • High school diploma; or equivalent. Relevant training and/or certification with a cost estimate/project management certification institute
  • Experience in Construction Management or related field is a plus.
  • Previous estimating software experience is a plus.
  • Manage own time and organize workload with minimal supervision.
  • Personable, honest, dependable, & detail oriented.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Be polished and professional in interactions with fellow employees and customers
  • Computer skills, particularly spreadsheet, database, internet research skills, MS Office, and Adobe
  • Exercise sound judgment and demonstrate advanced problem-solving ability.
  • Travel is required up to 20% of the time for job site visits
  • Minimum of 1-2 year's experience
