About the position

As an Assistant Project Manager at Prime Controls, you will play a crucial role in supporting Project Managers with system integration projects. Your responsibilities will include coordinating project documentation, managing resources, and ensuring effective communication between departments. This position is essential for maintaining project timelines, budgets, and overall quality of service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project proposals by determining time frames, costs, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
  • Work with the documentation group to prepare and organize required submittal documents.
  • Purchase parts, supplies, and technical instrumentation according to specifications and system design.
  • Act as a liaison for inter-department coordination and day-to-day operations for assigned projects.
  • Maintain project documentation and update it with change orders.
  • Participate in project review meetings with contractors and customer representatives.
  • Review change orders and update pricing to maintain profitability and budget constraints.
  • Assist with the preparation of project reports for management, general contractors, customers, and engineering firms.
  • Maintain Job Hazard Analysis documentation.
  • Fill in for Project Manager when needed for meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, project management, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of full-time experience in architecture, pre-construction, construction, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to apply technological solutions to planning or implementation assignments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with industry tools and references including estimating (RS Means or similar) and scheduling tools (MS Project or similar).
  • Familiarity with CAD or BIM based programs, visual communication software (Bluebeam or similar), and project tracking/document control software (Procore or similar).
  • Strong understanding of programming, design, and construction principles.
  • Previous experience in industrial automation.
  • Experience with team and customer meetings generating RFIs, Action Item Lists, and Meeting Minutes.
  • Experience utilizing customer portals for project documentation such as Procore.
  • Knowledge of Rockwell hardware and AVEVA Software.
  • Experience working with Electrical installation contractors.
