About the position

The Assistant Project Manager for Environmental Remediation at ECC is responsible for supporting the management of project activities to ensure successful completion within set time frames and budgets. This role requires a solid understanding of performance-based project management, including risk mitigation and budget balancing, particularly in the context of environmental remediation projects governed by CERCLA and RCRA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager in planning and coordinating project activities.
  • Review project proposals to determine time frames, funding limitations, and staffing requirements.
  • Establish work plans and staffing for each project phase.
  • Confer with project staff and subcontractors to outline work plans and assign duties.
  • Direct and coordinate project personnel to ensure progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Review status reports and modify schedules as required.
  • Prepare project reports for management and clients.
  • Provide technical advice and resolve project-related problems.
  • Coordinate project activities with government regulatory agencies.
  • Manage supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Develop and maintain baseline schedules and perform schedule updates.
  • Prepare look-ahead schedules and document physical percent complete.
  • Coordinate and prepare required reports for client invoices and revenue forecasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, or a related science discipline.
  • Three years of experience with scheduling and project planning for large environmental/construction projects.
  • Three years of working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Experience with CERCLA and RCRA regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and scheduling software like Primavera and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and related training.
  • Experience with emerging contaminant characterization and cleanup technologies.
  • Professional Engineer License or Environmental Professional certification.
  • Experience in HTRW remedial action project management.
