About the position

SDSU Imperial Valley invites applications for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Psychology with a Fall 2025 appointment. This position would be housed exclusively on the SDSU-IV campus, meaning all courses will be taught there. The position requires expertise to teach core Psychology courses at the undergraduate level, including lower- as well as upper-level classes, with specialization in the areas of Social and/or Developmental Psychology. The research area is open; however, applicants whose research programs are relevant to the Imperial Valley region and/or student population are especially encouraged to apply. A doctoral degree in psychology or a related field with research areas and expertise in psychology is required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Psychology at SDSU Imperial Valley.
  • Maintain an active research agenda.
  • Serve on university committees.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in psychology or a closely related field by August 1, 2025.
  • Demonstrated evidence of research scholarship and teaching experience.
  • Defined research interests with a preferred specialization in Social and/or Developmental Psychology.

Benefits

  • Salary range from $80,000 to $83,000 based on qualifications and experience.
