Assistant Professor of Nursing

About the position

The Augustana University Nursing Program invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor. A research doctorate in nursing or related discipline is preferred, as is advanced practice certification as an adult-gero clinical nurse specialist or adult-gero acute care nurse practitioner, or experience in mental health. Support for research and completion of the research doctorate is available for eligible candidates. All eligible candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong commitment to student-centered teaching excellence in an expanding nursing program within the context of the liberal arts.
• Shape new educational programming at the undergraduate and graduate level.
• Teach courses dependent on specialization and interests of the successful applicant.
• Engage in interdisciplinary research and collaboration with colleagues in health and life sciences, as well as in social science and the humanities.

Requirements

• Earned research doctorate preferred.
• Graduate level preparation and practice experience in a clinical specialty.
• Teaching excellence.
• Habit of scholarly productivity.
• Ability to interact with students, faculty, and leadership with different backgrounds and points of view.

Nice-to-haves
