About the position

The University of Wisconsin-Stout is seeking an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education (ECSE) who is either an emerging or established scholar dedicated to promoting equitable, inclusive, and quality teaching and learning in early childhood education. This tenure track position involves teaching undergraduate courses, supervising student teachers, and engaging in scholarly activities within a renowned program that leads to licensure in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Teach Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education courses.
• Supervise teacher candidates in field experiences.
• Provide student academic advisement and conduct assessment of student learning.
• Engage in scholarly activities and research.
• Develop and maintain positive relations with outside agencies.
• Work collaboratively with faculty and staff as well as independently on academic program assessment and continuous improvement processes.
• Participate in service activities at the discipline, school, and university levels.
• Participate in professional and community service activities.

Requirements

• An earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Early Childhood Special Education or a related field, or a Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education or a related field with enrollment in a doctoral program upon application, with completion of the terminal degree by the time of tenure consideration.
• Five years of full-time teaching experience as the lead teacher in the Birth-Age 8 range.
• Licensable in Early Childhood Special Education in the Birth-Age 8 range.
