About the position

The Department of Informatics at Fort Hays State University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Digital Media Production. Faculty members typically allocate their efforts across three core areas: Instruction (60%), scholarship and creative activity (20%), and service (20%). The successful candidate will teach four courses each semester, advise graduate students, and supervise independent study work. They will also engage in scholarship and creative activities, contributing to local, regional, and national media productions, and articulate a clear scholarly research agenda. Service contributions to the University and the community are also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Teach four courses each semester in digital media production.

  • Develop or modify courses to engage students with emerging trends.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in digital media production, media studies, or audio production.
  • 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline from an accredited university.
  • Experience teaching foundational, conceptual, and practical elements of digital media.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. in digital media production with professional credits in audio production.
  • Three years of university/college teaching experience.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence in a college/university setting.
