About the position

The Clemson University School of Architecture (CUSoA) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Architecture to begin on August 15, 2025. This position focuses on architectural design as well as architectural history and theory. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a clear research agenda, teach across various levels of the curriculum, and contribute to the program's operations through service and leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clear research agenda and communicate research through publications and public dissemination.
  • Teach core or advanced design studio courses each Fall and Spring semester.
  • Teach core lecture courses or seminars in architectural history and theory each Fall and Spring semester.
  • Support the operations of the program, school, college, and/or university through service on committees or other leadership roles.

Requirements

  • PhD or terminal degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in architectural design and architectural history and theory.
  • Experience in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with interdisciplinary teaching and research.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals or other recognized platforms.
