Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music education.

• Participate in the promotion review of lower-ranked faculty members.
• Conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent studies and thesis supervision.
• Supervise student and graduate assistants as needed.

Requirements

• Terminal degree in music education or related field (ABD candidates may be considered).
• Demonstrated capability to produce research and scholarly accomplishments.
• Ability to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate students.
• Commitment to conducting research and service activities.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Nice-to-haves

• Substantial music teaching experience in public schools (minimum of ten years preferred).
• Valid Texas music teacher certification.
• Experience in higher education teaching (minimum of five years preferred).
