About the position

The University of Cincinnati's Department of Biological Sciences is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Computational Neuroscience. This role focuses on developing a research program in computational neuroscience, teaching courses related to neuroscience and computational biology, and supervising graduate students. The position emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and aims to enhance the department's research and educational offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an externally funded, internationally recognized research program in computational neuroscience.
  • Teach existing and/or develop new courses in neuroscience, computational biology, and/or biological statistics at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
  • Supervise MS and PhD student workers, ensuring progress in their research and development of dissertation projects.
  • Participate in relevant service to the department, college, university, and profession, including serving on committees and contributing to the development of novel biology-related programs.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biology, Neuroscience, or a closely related field prior to the effective date of appointment.
  • One year of postdoctoral or other professional research experience following PhD completion.
