About the position

The College of Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) at Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a full-time, tenure track or teacher-scholar track Assistant Professor in Construction Management. The successful candidate will teach across various modes and levels in the B.S. and M.S. in Construction Management programs, contributing to curriculum development, student advising, and original research. This position aims to prepare students for leadership roles in the construction management field, emphasizing technical skills, decision-making, and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of construction management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Contribute to curricular/course development and course coordination.
  • Engage in assessment for ABET-ANSAC accreditation.
  • Advise students and assist in student recruitment.
  • Conduct original research and engage in scholarly activities.
  • Perform service at the Program, College, and University levels.

Requirements

  • PhD or foreign equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Extensive industry experience in construction management may substitute for a PhD, provided candidates have a professional credential (LEED AP or equivalent) and acceptable academic credentials.
  • 3 years of experience in college-level teaching in the field and 3 years of industry experience in construction management.
  • Strong record of research/scholarship and/or professional practice is preferred.
  • Organizational and sound communication skills, team player, and relationship builder.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of ABET accreditation and assessment practices.
  • Experience in online teaching.
  • Professional credentials such as LEED AP.
