About the position

The Assistant Professor in Architecture position at North Carolina State University is a full-time, tenure-track role focused on teaching and research in the field of architecture. The successful candidate will engage in teaching architecture studios, core lecture courses, and advanced seminars, while also contributing to the School of Architecture's research initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Teach 18 credits per year, typically one 6-credit studio and one 3-credit course per semester.
  • Develop and maintain an active and significant research record.
  • Serve on school, college, and university committees and task forces.
  • Prepare students to succeed in academic and professional settings by developing their critical thinking and design skills.
  • Advance the School of Architecture's research enterprise in relevant topics.
  • Engage with professional practice and industry partners in North Carolina and beyond.
  • Seek collaborations within and across departments and colleges.

Requirements

  • Terminal Master's Degree in Architecture.
  • Grounded in contemporary design concepts, principles, practices, methods, and tools across a range of media.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Post-professional degree, including a Ph.D. or Doctor degree.
