About the position

The University of Texas at Arlington's School of Architecture is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Assistant Professor in Architectural Design Theory for a tenure-track position. The role focuses on enhancing academic and research activities, contributing to the school's national reputation in design education, and establishing a recognized research agenda in Architectural Design Theory. The ideal candidate will engage in teaching, research, and service, while fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration within the college and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in architectural theory.
  • Develop and maintain a nationally recognized research agenda in Architectural Design Theory.
  • Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and creative work in the field.
  • Engage in academic service within the institution and the broader academic community.
  • Build cross-disciplinary teams for research and design projects.

Requirements

  • PhD or advanced research degree in a relevant area of expertise.
  • A minimum of one degree in architecture.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching architecture design studios.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional or terminal degree in Architecture (B-Arch or M-Arch).
  • Demonstrated excellent design experience.
