About the position

The Sweetwater Union High School District is seeking an Assistant Principal to join our team. The district has a rich history of academic excellence, having won the San Diego County Academic Decathlon for eight consecutive years. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and collaborative culture that empowers each student to engage in meaningful educational experiences. The Assistant Principal will work closely with staff, district leadership, students, parents, and the community to ensure the success of our students. This position requires a valid California Clear Administrative Credential and a Master's degree in education, along with five years of successful experience in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Work effectively with staff, district leadership, students, parents, and the community.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Support the academic and social-emotional well-being of students.
  • Collaborate with the school community to understand culture and academic expectations.
  • Measure success through defined metrics after the first year.

Requirements

  • California Teaching Credential/Counseling Credential.
  • California Administrative Services Credential or Certification of Eligibility for an Administrative Credential.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education.
  • Five years of successful experience in an educational setting.
