About the position

The Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor for the Master of Architecture Program, specializing in Fine Arts. The position, starting August 1, 2025, requires a dynamic artist with expertise in visual representation, including drawing, printmaking, painting, and sculpture. The successful candidate will engage in teaching, scholarship, and service, contributing to the program's strategic goals and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching graduate-level studios in visual representation, including foundational instruction in drawing, printmaking, painting, and three-dimensional work.
  • Fulfill an annual course-load of 12 credit-hours during the 10-month academic year.
  • Actively engage in scholarly work and creative activity through publications, exhibitions, symposia, or other nationally/internationally recognized forums.
  • Assist in shaping and realizing the central goals of the program's strategic plan.
  • Serve on program, school, or college-level committees as needed.
  • Assist with the NAAB accreditation process in coordination with the program Director, Assistant Director, faculty, and staff.
  • Work in collaboration with community organizations and partners to expand the program's impact and outreach, locally, regionally, and abroad.
  • Help orchestrate travel abroad programs, as well as lectures and exhibitions hosted by the program.
  • Advise individual students and student-led organizations.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate Recruitment Coordinator, Director of Communications and Marketing, and fellow faculty members as a participant in events and activities related to marketing and recruitment.
  • Uphold the Eskenazi School's Mission and Values as outlined in current Governance Documents.
  • Fulfill the requirements of the Eskenazi School's Promotion and Tenure process for tenure-track and tenured faculty members, including providing evidence of excellence in research/creative activity, teaching, and service.

Requirements

  • MFA or M.Arch with expertise in drawing, printmaking, painting and/or sculpture.
  • Strong creative portfolio with potential to participate in solo and group exhibitions or publications recognized nationally and internationally.
  • Ability to teach foundational studios in drawing, printmaking, painting, and three-dimensional work.
