About the position

Augustana University is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. This role involves teaching in an accelerated two-year DPT program that combines online and on-campus activities. Faculty members can work remotely but must be available to travel to designated locations for specific periods each trimester. The position is set to commence on November 1, 2024.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses as agreed upon with the DPT Program Director.
• Engage in service and scholarship responsibilities as per the faculty rank guidelines.
• Participate in professional development activities as outlined in the faculty manual.
• Demonstrate adherence to the Core Values of the Physical Therapy profession.
• Communicate effectively and professionally, both online and in-person.
• Interact effectively with diverse groups including students, faculty, and administration.
• Handle detail-oriented assignments while maintaining confidentiality (FERPA).
• Manage a wide range of responsibilities within the DPT Program.

Requirements

• Terminal academic doctorate in a relevant discipline (Ph.D., EdD, DSc, etc.) or Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (or tDPT).
• Active physical therapy license in home state and eligibility for licensure in South Dakota and Minnesota.
• Clinical experience in Orthopedics, Pain Management, Primary Care Physical Therapy, Anatomy, and Therapeutic Interventions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong computer skills to support online instructional formats.
