About the position

This job posting is for a position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not Del Taco LLC. This means the independent franchisee, and not Del Taco LLC will be your employer if you are hired. The independent franchisee is responsible for all employment related matters in the restaurant including, among other things, setting any requirements for this job and all decisions concerning hiring, firing, discipline, wages, supervision, staffing and scheduling. The position aims to protect and deliver the Del Taco Brand and grow sales while maximizing the efficiency and profitability of the restaurant by leading the Del Taco Way with the General Manager or as the lead manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager's efforts to adequately staff the restaurant with quality people who are passionate about achieving standards, exceeding expectations, and delighting customers.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain all restaurant employees in compliance with the employee position report.
  • Ensure the entire team is certified according to the current training process at all times.
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning.
  • Create a service oriented culture.
  • Promote an environment of fun and teamwork.
  • Evaluate performance and recommend salary increases.
  • Recommend, approve, and administer disciplinary action, suspension, and/or termination.
  • Develop and grow team members.
  • Execute Del Taco Standards and use processes and systems 100% of the time.
  • Maintain the facility and customer areas.
  • Maintain all equipment to operational and safety standards.
  • Deliver only quality products to Del Taco standards every time.
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules and standards.
  • Ensure employees are in proper uniform.
  • Ensure a consistent service experience.
  • Ensure POP and signage is present and in the approved location.
  • Assist the General Manager in identifying and communicating sales goals (daily, weekly, year over year).
  • Ensure the right people are in the right places according to projected / actual sales.
  • Increase customer count and check average, and maximize capacity and customer value.
  • Support the General Manager in identifying and executing Local Store Marketing opportunities to attract new customers.
  • Stay aware of local events; Understand the store's current trade area and competition.
  • Execute speed (speed with a smile) and service standards.
  • Flawlessly execute marketing promotions and campaigns.
  • Maintain staffing levels to actual sales.
  • Comply with labor laws.
  • Accurately order and manage inventory to reduce waste and prevent theft.
  • Ensure cash handling procedures and standards are in place and followed.
  • Perform cash audits and address identified issues.
  • Execute safety and health standards.
  • Minimize R&M / Supplies and Services costs by managing service vendors efficiently.
  • Achieve and communicate controllable cost targets.
