About the position

Join our vibrant team at Parfait Paris in Del Mar, CA, as an Assistant Manager or Shift Lead. This role is essential in delivering a top-notch dining experience, enhancing customer engagement, and increasing profitability in our French bakery. We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals who are passionate about French cuisine and desserts.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome and bid farewell to customers
• Enhance sales by recommending our delectable French cuisines and sweets offerings
• Manage day-to-day operations of the coffee shop with a total of 10 employees
• Participate with the Manager on onboarding new wait staff and baristas
• Train employees on drinks and food preparation and proper use of coffee equipment
• Participate in doing the weekly inventory with the manager
• Ensure all shop areas are clean and tidy
• Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service
• Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation
• Skillfully handle cash and credit transactions
• Opening and Closing side work before or after your shift
• Place end of day orders on our online platforms
• Handle customer complaints
• Have barista skills and know how to make cappuccino, latte macchiato, mocha, espresso
• Make crepes & sandwiches

Requirements

• Proficiency in basic math
• Work experience as a Cafe/coffee shop Assistant Manager or 2 years as shift lead
• Keen eye for detail
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Friendly and outgoing personality
• Reliable, honest and punctual
• Hospitality or food service experience
• High school diploma
• Additional certification (e.g. in Business Administration or Hospitality, Food manager license) is a plus
• At least one experience as shift lead
