About the position

The Assistant Lead Clinician (ALC) at Southwest Key Programs is responsible for overseeing mental health screening and counseling services for minors. This role involves monitoring and documenting the mental well-being of minors, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, and developing service plans. The ALC will also facilitate referrals and ensure the proper implementation of treatment plans, while providing support and training to staff clinicians.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and training for staff clinicians in clinical services.
  • Conduct intake, admission, and screenings with minors, documenting results according to standards.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Clinician on referrals to external services.
  • Develop treatment plans in collaboration with treatment team members and minors.
  • Facilitate educational and group counseling sessions.
  • Monitor the well-being of minors and arrange for third-party mental health services as needed.
  • Document minors' functioning, mental health status, and treatment needs.
  • Participate in meetings and quality improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Attend required trainings and departmental meetings.
  • Assist in the evacuation of youth during emergencies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work (MSW) or a relevant behavioral science field.
  • 5 years of full-time direct service delivery experience.
  • Associate or Independent license in Arizona (LAMFT/LMFT, LAC/LPC, LAMSW/LCSW) or California (AMFT/LMFT, ASW/LCSW).
  • Two years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience in clinical interviewing and assessment.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and/or families.
  • Successful completion of 86 hours of pre-service training and job shadowing.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Compliance with annual training requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with children and youth in inpatient, residential, or detention facilities.
  • Experience working with undocumented children and/or refugees.
  • Proficiency in Turkish, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, French, Arabic, and English.
