About the position
The Assistant Home Supervisor at Central State Community Services, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Home Supervisor in ensuring compliance with care standards and operational procedures. This position involves direct supervision of staff, providing personal care services to consumers, and maintaining a safe and orderly home environment. The Assistant Home Supervisor is also responsible for various administrative tasks and emergency availability, contributing to a person-centered approach to care.
Responsibilities
- Support the Home Supervisor in consumer care and home operations compliance.
- Provide direct supervision of staff on second shift and other shifts as needed.
- Assist in providing 24-hour on-call emergency availability to home staff.
- Complete daily data collection and report any omissions or errors to the Home Supervisor.
- Provide personal care services according to consumers' Person Centered Plans.
- Ensure appropriate medication distribution and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Model and monitor active treatment and implementation of Person Centered Plans.
- Assist consumers with lifting, transferring, and personal care needs.
- Conduct and participate in training as required.
- Complete monthly safety check reports and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Michigan Driver's License required.
- Minimum of 1 year of direct care experience or related training.
- Ability to lift and support consumers (minimum lift requirement of 90 lbs).
- Evidence of emotional maturity and stability.
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and objectively.
- Ability to supervise staff and maintain an orderly home environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a supervisory role within a care setting.
- Knowledge of Michigan DHS and DCH regulations.
