About The Position

Maryville High School is seeking an Assistant Coach for the high school girls' basketball program. This role involves developing and maintaining a positive educational environment, managing athletic activities, and supporting student-athletes' growth and post-secondary goals.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years high school coaching experience preferred
Basketeball experience at the collegiate level preferred
Dynamic communicator and motivator of student-athletes
Develops and maintains a positive educational environment as a leader of the team.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (TSSAA), opponents, officials, staff, parents, and students.

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
Be present and active during any activity involving basketball athletes.
Coordinate the development, promotion, and retention for the Basketball Program.
Develop and organize a regular practice schedule and practice plan along with other coaches to provide both individual and team development along with consistent implementation of expectations.
Assist student-athletes with college recruitment.
Actively support student athlete post-secondary goals.
Incorporate best practices into a growth-oriented teaching/coaching style.
Perform duties assigned to all coaches by administrators.
Develop and manage a team budget strictly according to bookkeeping procedures.
Work with the administration to achieve district goals described within the Maryville City Schools Strategic Plan document.
