Two Six Technologies is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support our Facility Security Officer (FSO) in managing and maintaining compliance with National Industrial Security Program (NISP) requirements. The AFSO will play a key role in personnel security processing, security administration, and facility compliance to ensure adherence to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community security regulations. This position is onsite and based in our Herndon facility and requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI and Poly.

Responsibilities

  • Process and track security clearance applications, reinvestigations, and visit authorization letters (VALs).
  • Maintain personnel security records, ensuring compliance with DISS, NBIS, NISS, and other government security databases.
  • Conduct security clearance verifications and assist in managing security incidents and reports.
  • Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel.
  • Process outgoing and incoming visit requests and certifications.
  • Submit SCI Nomination packages to government customers.
  • Assist with the management of personnel, information, and physical security programs at our accredited facilities.
  • Support the development and execution of security policies, procedures, and training in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM).
  • Assist in self-inspections, audits, and preparation for DCSA security assessments.
  • Support building access control system, including issuance and management of badges, access logs.
  • Conduct and assist FSO with quarterly facility inspections and random baggage checks.
  • Assist with Open/Close procedures as it pertains to use and configuration of any combination lock accessing Classified areas.
  • Support compliance with industrial security policies and procedures, including insider threat and foreign travel briefings.
  • Assist in issuing, tracking, and maintaining DD-254s and subcontract security requirements.
  • Facilitate classified meetings and facility security administration, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
  • Act as a liaison between Two Six Technologies, DCSA representatives, government customers, and internal stakeholders to address security concerns.
  • Conduct document control security by safeguarding classified documents in accordance with the 32 CFAR Part 117 (NISPOM) and through coordination with government agencies, and the FSO.
  • Maintain the shipping receipt/dispatch process, storage and maintenance of classified materials utilizing the Sign In Compliance tool.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in facility/industrial security operations within the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
  • Familiarity with DISS, e-QIP, NISS, SWFT, and Sign in Compliance for security clearance processing.
  • Strong knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), personnel security processes, and facility clearance management.
  • Experience processing DD-254s and managing subcontracts under security compliance guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive information securely.
  • Understanding of Security Executive Agent Directive (SEAD) 3 and SEAD 4.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities (CDSE Certification).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting DoD R&D programs.
  • Knowledge of Special Access Programs (SAPs) and SAP Facilities (SAPFs).
  • Experience with Sign In Compliance formerly known as Threatswitch.
  • Familiarity with Controlled Unclassified Information Security requirements.
