About the position
The Assistant Director of Security and Safety plays a crucial role in managing the daily functions of the security department at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne Miami. This position focuses on ensuring the protection of property assets, employees, and guests while maintaining compliance with legal and operational standards. The role involves training staff in emergency procedures, implementing safety protocols, and striving for guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Loss Prevention in managing daily security operations.
- Maintain logs, certifications, and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Train staff in established emergency procedures and implement accident and fire prevention procedures.
- Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances.
- Supervise security staff to effectively monitor and protect property assets.
- Perform duties of the Director of Loss Prevention in their absence.
- Communicate critical information to Loss Prevention officers and ensure understanding of safety procedures.
- Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Emphasize guest satisfaction during departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.
- Assist in maintaining required OSHA programs and statistical data.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in security/loss prevention or related area, or a 2-year degree in Criminal Justice with 2 years experience.
- Valid CPR Certification.
