About the position

The Assistant Director of Nursing - LPN position involves managing the day-to-day healthcare operations of a community to ensure that residents' healthcare needs are met. The role emphasizes treating residents with respect and dignity while ensuring consistent quality care as their healthcare needs change. The Assistant Director will also oversee the supervision of community-based licensed nursing staff and provide ongoing training and education to Caregivers. This position may require stepping into the role of a Caregiver or Med Tech/Aide to meet staffing requirements and residents' needs. Additionally, the Assistant Director will manage medication training, pharmacy management, and conduct periodic audits as per Brookdale Guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day healthcare operations of the community to ensure resident's healthcare needs are met.
  • Ensures residents are treated with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as resident's healthcare needs change.
  • Ensures consistent quality resident care and service delivery throughout all shifts; may require assuming the role and responsibilities of a Caregiver or Med Tech/Aide.
  • Assists in the supervision of community-based licensed nursing staff, medication technicians/CMA's, and Caregivers, providing ongoing training and education.
  • Oversees and manages the continuity and consistency of medication training, pharmacy management, and medication supervision/administration.
  • Conducts periodic Care Associate medication skills inventory checks and periodic medication audits per Brookdale Guidelines.
  • Shares on call duties as required.

Requirements

  • Education as required to obtain state nursing license (LPN/LVN or RN).
  • A minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience.
  • LPN or LVN license.
