About The Position

Access Services is seeking an Assistant Director of Day Programs! The Assistant Director of Day Programs plays a key leadership role in supporting the overall management, organization, and daily operations of our 2380/2390 day programs, ensuring high-quality, person-centered services for adults with developmental disabilities. This position provides oversight and guidance to Program Managers, supports staff development, and helps ensure regulatory compliance and effective service delivery. This role is based out of our Bethlehem office and oversees four program locations across Carbon, Schuylkill, Monroe, and Northampton/Lehigh counties. The Assistant Director is expected to maintain a consistent on-site presence, visiting each location at least once every other week.

Requirements

  • A valid US driver’s license for at least two years, not including time with permit.
  • No serious traffic convictions within the past three years. (Serious convictions include, but are not limited to, DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or three or more traffic violations and/or at-fault accidents within that period).
  • Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours. Vehicle must have valid registration and inspection stickers.
  • Valid auto insurance. You will be asked to provide proof that you are a covered driver on the policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, education, or another related field required.
  • Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience in an ID/A program; licensed program experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Ability to effectively interact as part of a team.
  • Ability to develop positive, creative, and programmatic goals.
  • Knowledge of various disabilities as well as principles and methods of habilitation.
  • Knowledge of behavior management, safety techniques, programming planning principles, basic concepts of family and group work therapy.
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning and the ability to help individuals meet their plan of care objectives.
  • Knowledge of pertinent community resources and facilities.
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms and technologies.
  • Ability to navigate network drives and basic hardware use and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in the overall management, organization, and daily operational oversight of the Day Program, including but not limited to program expenses, billing practices, documentation compliance, and service delivery.
  • Facilitate the corrective action process when required.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training within the program.
  • Supervise Program Managers using individual and group supervision methods.
  • Help ensure quality of services and files maintenance are in accordance with the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) regulations (2380 / 2390 license).
  • Provide regulatory compliance and assist Program Director in overseeing the program’s licensing process and inspections.
  • Help ensure the highest quality of care to individuals by helping them meet their needs.
  • Assist Program Managers to facilitate the consumer intake process.
  • Promote the Day Programs within the community and perform public relation functions.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field relating to the provision of services and intervention techniques.
  • Help ensure that our services are in compliance with the Access Services' established policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and guidance related to problem solving and crisis resolution to the Program staff members.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and others outside the agency.
  • Review with staff various methods of interventions and program planning for individuals and their families.
  • Provide direct care when required by staffing needs.
