About the position

The Assistant Director for Global Programs is responsible for developing and executing a growing number of global learning programs for first year students intending to matriculate to the Undergraduate Business Program (UBP). Additionally, this position is responsible for oversight and coordination of the academic processes and policies related to UBP global learning programs. Overall, more than 70% of all UBP students participate in a global learning program before they graduate. In addition to having higher education work experience and an understanding of the nature of international business education, the Assistant Director must be knowledgeable about all aspects of the University and the Business School including its mission, policies, and procedures. The Assistant Director develops programs and activities consistent with the curricular and programmatic goals of the UBP and the strategic priorities of the Kenan-Flagler Business School. To that end, the Assistant Director works collaboratively with the rest of the Global Programs team and the other functional areas within the UBP to research, influence, and implement new program opportunities in alignment with the overall expansion strategy of UBP Global. This position reports directly to the Director of Undergraduate Business Global Programs. Reporting to the Assistant Director is the Global Programs Manager. Some evening and weekend hours as well as international and domestic travel will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global learning programs for first year students in the Undergraduate Business Program.
  • Oversee and coordinate academic processes and policies related to UBP global learning programs.
  • Collaborate with the Global Programs team and other functional areas within UBP.
  • Research, influence, and implement new program opportunities in alignment with UBP Global's expansion strategy.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across campus and globally.

Requirements

  • Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required or a relevant Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Strong and clear communication skills.
  • Motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and perform under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three to five years of related work experience.
  • Direct experience working with undergraduate students in a global programs university setting.
