The Assistant Chef will oversee the kitchen and Back of House (BOH) staff to ensure the product is true to the concept of Mulberry Street Pizzeria. This role involves researching and developing new menu items, assisting with managing budgeted labor and other cost centers, and overseeing inventories and ordering of food and supplies. The Assistant Chef will also assist with food preparation, station cooking, and expo of food as needed, and manage inventory, purchasing, and receiving for both front-of-house and back-of-house products. Ensuring sanitation procedures and organization of work areas adhere to health code regulations and standards, upholding menu standards, and maintaining presentation quality are key responsibilities. The role also includes assisting with daily line-ups and pre-shift meetings, conducting scheduled meetings to ensure open communication, and ensuring team members adhere to company guidelines. The Assistant Chef must obtain and maintain position-specific licensing and ensure all company core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied. Use of personal device or cellular phone for job-related operational tasks and review of company documents is expected, along with performing other job-related duties as requested.
