About the position

The Assistant Branch Manager - Northern Market plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the branch and driving the strategic direction of all market branches. This position works closely with the Branch and Market managers to ensure that the branches achieve exceptional member experience scores while meeting operational, sales, service, and compliance goals. The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for fostering team member development to promote employee retention and growth, creating an environment that aligns with the organization's mission, vision, and values. Additionally, this role is instrumental in generating new business through community outreach, acquiring new memberships, and improving the retention and growth of existing relationships. In this position, the Assistant Branch Manager will lead efforts to ensure exceptional member experience and drive sales and business development performance. Acting as the primary leader in the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager will ensure seamless branch operations and partner with the Market Manager and Branch Managers to manage daily tasks and strategic initiatives. This role requires overseeing and traveling to multiple branch locations, both remotely and in person, while ensuring compliance with procedures, policies, and processes. Coaching and mentoring employees is a key responsibility, as the Assistant Branch Manager will identify areas for training in sales and service, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth. The role also involves mentoring and preparing emerging leaders within the Senior role, utilizing effective coaching methods to create a motivating, welcoming, and performance-driven culture. The Assistant Branch Manager will champion the organizational values and culture across all branches, creating environments that strongly reflect the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization. Additionally, leading market-wide volunteer initiatives will strengthen community ties and team unity. Setting and maintaining exceptional member service standards is essential, leveraging CRM systems to ensure that branch employees proactively identify opportunities to support Membership on their journey to Financial Wellness. The Assistant Branch Manager will strengthen ties and collaboration with other business lines to optimize member experience and support internal and external sales and service programs to achieve branch goals, including business development and community outreach. The role also involves promoting and educating members and staff on the click, call, and come in strategic priority, while performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in Financial Services Sales and Service required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a Leadership role required.
  • 1+ years Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analyzing challenges and implementing effective solutions.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts as they arise required.
  • Comfort with using banking software, CRM systems, and other relevant technology for member service and virtual team member support required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to oversee daily operations at multiple locations required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • In-depth understanding of credit union operations, financial products, and services.
  • Ability to understand and drive branch performance indicators to achieve set targets required.
  • Advanced customer service skills to ensure a positive member experience with the ability to handle member inquiries, complaints, and complex issues with professionalism required.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work with diverse groups of leaders, team members, departments, and senior leaders to ensure shared success required.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate team members required.
